I need a plow, but I also need a job and when I went plow-shopping - TopicsExpress

I need a plow, but I also need a job and when I went plow-shopping I got the impression that there is a high school on another continent making money building parts with mild steel. So, I decided to build my own. A neighbor has a full sized Jeep, so he has a lot of broken parts laying around. I liked the shape of his cast iron A-frames, so I cut one down. To make it attach I decided to use the Reese socket I installed before, a 2 inch ball hitch flipped sideways and did a little cutting on the casting. I cut in a square hole and ground two sides of the ball to fit tight, also notching the casting so it wants to stay together. I ground the pin for the trailing bushing into a chisel tip and used an existing threaded hole (formerly sway bar) for the upper bar to take up the forward thrust. I did buy a shovel, which I have not installed yet; Im not so sure about drilling through the web of the beam and gonna think about it for a while. I wanted to get the basics working first, and this will bust the sod up for me.
