I need a second pair of eyes on this. 1 a person contacted me to babsit his dog as he wanted to take a day trip and said the place he was going the dog could not be out of the vehicle. he asked if he could leave the animal here. 2. I told the person I already had plans for the day, and for whatever reason (he asked) i proceeded to outline the plans to the person, who then more or less was asking me questions about my plans that really was none of his darn business, but old habits between us I was verbally defending that I freaking had plans. 3. after consideration on my part I stated " I guess I can change my plans and stay home to watch your dog(the dogs cannot be left home alone for the day as they need to go out and they get out of my yard, and the person knows this) 4. THEN person asks for myself and my youngest if we want to go with him, on the day trip. and I inquired what would we do with the dog???? his reply was, oh we can take him with us. ok so now I am confused. he asked me to dogsit because the dog could NOT go,(for which I opted to be thoughtful and dump MY plans to dogsit for him. and NOW the dog CAN go? if the dog was ab le to go then WTF ask me to change MY plans in the first place. 5 curious as to how he planned to provide for the dog if we all went, I asked what will you do with the dog if we all go> his reply was the Dog could stay in the van. my reply was that is stupid and he replied that his A/c is working very well and we would not be hot(there is a period of time where we would all be out of the van , that is what I was specifically concerned with. he said he would leave the van running. I told him that was crazy, and it sounded like he already spent to much time sitting idle in the van with it running(carbon monoxide poisoning?) IF he thought leaving the dog in a running vehicle was a good idea, and I also stated (both on the phone and in chat) that he was rude to expect me to change my plans to dogsit, but for the dogs sake I would but I was even more upset that he obviously did not need a dog sitter in the first place else why in the world would he THEN invite us all along, and say we COULD leave the dog in the van.. this convo took place while in chat typing and on the phone taking at the same time.. he is now telling everyone I am confused and etc. he then said that HE never said anything about carbon monoxide poisoning etc(no HE did1) my concern is that he thought it would be a GOOD idea to leave that old rusty van running with the a/c on for an extended period of time at idle.. so I am now the nutter for telling him that was not a smart idea and if he was doing that on a regular basis it was stupid. the final comment (my bad) was to ask if he did that often while HE sat in the van, if so that would explain and be a reason for him not thinking clearly and failing to understand why I would be angry that he insisted he needed a dog sitter then flip flopped, after I cancelled my plans and said the dog COULD go and sit in the van(as long as we all were going)...so NOW he messages My minor daughter and ask her how everything is going at the NUTHOUSE(the caps are his)... well I am about to get nuttier because the whole of it does have me frustrated and I feel with good reason, BUT I have been told that I am CRAZY to feel that way. I told myself I could look past these tendencies of this person and just be there cause he says no one else is, but I am seriously thinking of taking MY hat out of the ring on that(if ya know what I mean) IF I fail to comprehend what went on. fine. MY bad... I sent him a final message telling him to drop the dog I would watch the dog but we would NOT be going with him, he never responded, I waited the following day til well after 10 in the morning "just in case" he dropped the dog(he would not answer his phone). I really feel I am getting twisted up in being manipulated again..my response to this type of person these days is to shut them out of my life. then I look lie the A-hole. but oh well. any suggestions?
