I need some help with this Charlestown question~Back in the day when rum running in Charlestown I heard that up on Shumankanuck Hill a Governor was murdered just before he was about to turn states evidence against certain people affiliated with rum running. I think his name was Governor Bullock but...not sure of his name.He was shot to death in a home that still stands on Shumankanuck Hill.I heard his body was buried in a nearby cemetery and later exhumed to be moved to perhaps Riverbend Cemetery in Westerly R.I.I always thought he was shot to death while sitting on the porch but after speaking with the people who now live in the house I learned he was murdered inside of the house.
