I need to learn to trust my horses instincts more often. If you dont know this about horses I will tell you, they are great watch dogs. While Jelly-proofing the fence today I looked out at the horses. Eka was bright-eyed with a stiff neck and very focused ears looking toward the driveway. Important enough to even stop chewing which is a rare occasion. I watch for a few seconds then look back to call Jelly. The boys were at my heels but Jelly and Kate MIA. I ask dad, do you see Jelly? Nope, so I think I bet I know where she is. I look at the end of the driveway where Eka was staring and sure enough there goes my little orange dog. I called her back and after a moment of pondering she came sprinting back to me. I praised and called her until she was up in the yard, the I watch to see as she stops and sniffs something. She pile drives an egg into the ground, and three seconds later I ascertain it is a rotten egg. Jelly comes running up to the fence and I hoist her by the collar and drag her straight to the tub. That was one NASTY stank on that dog. Maybe if Id pay more attention to what Eka was looking at I could have avoided the sitation. PS, febreeze does work as good as the commercials say... When you wash the stank off of a dog in the bathroom it has to go somewhere...
