I need to say a few extra special thank yous today. There were a few people without whom Tails & Trails would never have been as good as it was. I feel like I am getting a lot of praise (and also the complaints but thats ok) when this was really a team effort. Felecha Freeman did SOOOO much work. She is 100% responsible for us having food, awesome Moonwalks, and the great Pet Pals booth! Her and Rosanna Russell got the t-shirts done. Also, her husband Jeremy was there bright and early and did soooo much grunt work with my dad! Renee Bickel Montoya and Jeff Wright Im in awe of what you two did with organizing all of the transport of all of those dogs! You guys didnt stop moving/sweating for days. Thank you SOOO much! Marilyn Angel for helping and encouraging me from day 1 and for bathing what seemed like every dog in the shelter in one day. You are a beast! Andy Peterson who thought he was going to work a welcome table and ended up being a slave to 30+ women all day. After all of that, he was the last man standing with my dad packing up everything that was left in the park. He was still packing up tents and picking up trash at 8:30pm. Monica Sauter Baldauf for organizing all of the fosters! I would have been so overwhelmed trying to do that. I know it was excruciatingly hot, but I think 6 fosters got adopted thanks to you organizing that! Jenny Holdren for coming over and spending the night Friday night and helping me get things together, hailing I cant even count how many loads of dogs FIVE at a time to and from the shelter. Especially for hauling the three loads of dogs that were left at the park and lifting everything heavy so I didnt hurt myself even though you yourself have had several surgeries on your arm lately. You amaze me! Janeen Slough Clark for coordinating the cats. You are a great bassi for for the cats, got an adoption (or two?), and I spotted you speaking with kids a couple of times setting a great example for our future generations. Thank you for knowing when the cats had too much and needed to go back and just making that happen without any questions or grumbling. You are an amazing advocate for the animals and a great friend. Rosanna Russell for making the awesome logo and doing sooooo much design and marketing for the event. If you liked the signs, banners, or t-shirts you have Rosanna to thank! Michelle Miears for you and your band playing awesome music to entertain all of us, for the great PSA during your set, for helping me avoid disaster the morning of the event, for being so dedicated to the animals of mcas and just overall being a beautiful and giving person. We are so thankful for your followers who have been instagramming and tweeting about the event and the importance of what the shelter does. AND for rushing out of dinner with your family to come back to the park to help clean everything up. Thank you to the society board members, especially Kelly White Trapane, Lynette Faye, and Sue Probst for supporting my crazy little idea! Minda Emas Harris for letting us turn the shelter upside down for a few days to make it all happen! And a big thank you to anyone I havent specifically mentioned but who did whatever it took all day long to make things run smoothly! A special thanks to those who came back to the park after learning that we were still out there with that mess to help!!!
