I needed this laugh........ I take alot of good-natured heat over my affection for Facebook here at home. Its the daily newspaper I CHOOSE to read, the pictures I WANT to see, and usually my kind of HUMOR. And in times of sadness and loss, I have personally found a community of caring and loving people on here who reach out in a profound way through their likes, words, comments, pictures and postings and whose sincere expressions of sympathy are both cathartic and soothing. The best thing it does is..... It bridges the miles and years to and from those we had in our lives, want in our lives, and never forgot about.....even if we dont actually get to see them very much or at all. I get to watch babies grow up before my eyes, see Brides before they walk down the aisle, hear all about their wedding plans as they unfold in pictures. I love seeing everyones trees and homes decorated during the holidays, the fish you catch on vacation, and all the pics marking anniversaries and milestones. Love when there are birthdays, a baby is born, someone becomes a GRAND, or a milestone anniversary is celebrated. And....beach pictures from all over the world, not to mention....those of you who travel far and wide and share it with the rest of us. Its neat to see where kids are going to school, the rivalries that hit the news feed for Football in the Fall, and who is retiring, returning, or just plain fed-up with something and needs to vent......love it all! The requests for prayers is priceless. In those times, we are joined together as a group, acknowledging our faith and belief that there is a God, and He is in control and very ABLE to meet our needs. Facebook allows us to experience and share in the GOOD STUFF that makes up our daily lives and years that are all too fleeting nowadays.I miss it when I cant get on, and I enjoy it when I can. So......I guess I will be back next year. I hope to see all of you, too!
