As you may have seen from the publicity in the Sound over the last few months, the mission of the Beacon Awards is as follows: The Shore Publishing Beacon Awards recognize a few of the outstanding individuals who selflessly step up to help fulfill the shoreline community’s promise as a place of wellbeing, opportunity and safety for all. You were nominated for an award by a neighbor in the community and, out of more than 50 nominations, the committee has selected you as one of the 15 winners of the 2014 Beacon Awards. We know that the volunteer work you do is not for fame or fortune but instead because you truly care about the community in which you live and the people that are your neighbors. The CT shoreline would not be the incredible place it is without the tireless efforts and contributions of volunteers like yourself.
