I never cease to be amazed by the stupidity of some people who should know better. On the news this evening was an item about the football World Cup in Qatar. Now they are debating whether to hold the tournament in the winter as Qatar reaches 50 degrees C in summer, but FIFA say it would take too long to change things. QATAR IS, AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN, A DESERT STATE......it is HOT AND DRY in the desert in the summer. Why did no-one think of that when FIFA were deciding where to hold the tournament? So I suppose that huge sums of money and a lot of hot air is going to be used to put right something that should never have occurred in the first place.
