I never usually feel compelled to discuss clients who have irritated me but this one has just truly taken the biscuit, heres the scenario... Client contacts me regarding their puppy last week they discussed that he had become possessive over food and anything he could steal whether it be from the bin, your hand, off your plate, off the kitchen worktop or off the table while also disclosing his lack of general obedience. They expressed their despair and seemed very keen to get cracking with him and I booked them in for a consultation for this week. Earlier this morning I received a panicked message from his owner asking me all sorts of questions and stating that they didnt want to give him up etc etc. I told her I had to change their session because of other plans I had forgotten I had made and would be happy to book them in earlier this week. We, again, discussed available times and booked her in and then much to my utter surprise I received a message roughly an hour later saying she has decided to get rid of the dog because they couldnt cope anymore! I feel so sorry for this young dog who has had such an unnecessary amount of misguidance and for the owner to just give him up without even trying... it just hones in on the importance of training right from the start and doing everything in your power to get it right. I do genuinely hope he finds the right home soon!
