The Accounting Club executive team truly offers a sense of community and family that is hard to replicate. As an executive team member, you are not only given the opportunity to work with some of the most talented minds at Sauder, but you have the opportunity to inspire students, network with professionals, and take the Club to a whole new level. As the Clubs President this past year, I not only had the opportunity to build upon my marketing and sales skills (through MULTIPLE shameless plugs), but I had a chance to practice team management, strategic planning, event operations, and event planning. If youre still not convinced, joining the Accounting Club really does give you an edge on the Recruit! When I went through the 2012 CPA Recruit, I had a strong support system to rely on and was given numerous opportunities to build meaningful relationships with firm reps. I would highly recommend any and all of these positions! It is an experience that is fun, meaningful, and worthwhile.
