I never want to live in a world where I see the religious, persecuted. One of my good friends is an atheist & he always remarks that of religion, you can not ever deny that those religious people (for the most part) are some of the most happiest & wisest persons you know. He says that to often say, why they shouldnt be persecuted or shamed. Religion works for some. For me, my religion - its Christianity. For others its Islam, for some its Buddhism. Chile, theres even a church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, LOL - everybody got something they wanna say. BUT in that same regard, I NEVER want to see religion impose itself in places & spaces I believe, it simply never belongs. The Supreme Court of the United States in its ruling today that companies can deny women birth control rights in healthcare packages, based upon religious reasoning - is as Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg called it in her disagreeing opinion, going into some very dangerous territory or a land mine as she likened it. MY faith is SO important to me. I recognize Jesus Christ as my savior and his life & perfect, complete work at Calvary as a sacrifice all men & women should embrace. Someone else may believe or see it differently. And you know what? Thats okay. BUT what I NEVER need to see is my beliefs expressed in movies, in classrooms, in television, in books, and ESPECIALLY not in my government. And especially not as the basis to deny ANY woman access to care that may be life-saving or altering for her. Usually we see these statuses from Christians when things dont go our way. I make this status, still a Christian - still with a heart on FIRE for God. But I make it with an earnest plea to God - please help your people. For we are truly lost. Just my thoughts. Just my lunch break musings. Charge it to my head, and pray for my heavy heart.
