I no longer strive for perfection since it is an unattainable - TopicsExpress

I no longer strive for perfection since it is an unattainable goal. I am happy to wake up each morning with a roof over my head, food on the table and a loving family. Life, a unique perspective Life is meant to be simple. What does simple mean? Does it mean without pleasure? Does it mean without toys? No it doesn’t mean that at all. What does life mean then? It means accepting all of your blessings and being thankful for what you have. Sometimes the more we have the more we want. The more we want our happiness seems to fade away. When this happens life becomes a chore with nothing but expectations and greed. We need to accept life as it is and allow for disappointments, error and failed goals without regret. Life is not always what we want it to be. Life is what it should be, just life. Disability Disability is life of a different sort. Life is not simple and has pleasure. You have toys that make life easier. Some of these toys are adaptive devices others are motorized vehicles, nevertheless toys. Your life is different, not over. Welcome to my world Our worlds appear very different yet they are the same. Different is being unique. Unique is good. Acceptance People that do not accept life as it is, suffer. In the past I constantly did not accept my situation in life and was constantly anxious and felt like I lost more battles than I won. I believed I could win and conquer my disability. Now I conquer my disability by changing my reaction and response to Parkinson’s symptoms. I change rather than attempt to change the disease.
