I normally would not respond to gossip but I feel I have to stand up for this department and officers in general. There have been some recent posts concerning Rockwood Police Officers. Everyone has the right to free speech but when does it cross the line and distorted? I am taking up for these officers because of the job they do. As the Bible says. let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Are our officers perfect and have they been perfect all there lives? Absolutely not and just as any administrator our command staff monitors our officers and occasionally has to provide discipline just as a parent do to their children. The exception I take is with those who hide behind the yellow badge of courage through fictitious names and who post such comments lacking the intestinal fortitude to actually sign their name. We screen our officers and do a complete background check on each and every one. We can find fault with everyone. To the good citizens of this and other communities you only have to see what these officers do day to day. They work to keep you safe and solve criminal acts committed against you. Are we perfect and solve every crime? No, although we would love do be able to that it is just not possible. However, it is a shame when those we arrest or arent pleased with our following the laws and procedures take to gossip to down this or ANY OTHER OFFICERS, DEPUTIES, TROOPERS OR AGANCY. Danny Wright
