I now think this is the shortest real song I’ve written. This - TopicsExpress

I now think this is the shortest real song I’ve written. This was also another experiment. This song was originally 5 seconds long that I recorded back in 1986 with just me on guitar and lead vocals. It was meant to sound like a real song but then just end abruptly. Call it my silly sense of humor I guess. When I got to working on this on Dec. 1st, 2013, I lengthened the song by a second, to make it appear as if I was just cutting a snippet of a song until the end. All I did was copy and paste a part of it to get that effect. I then overdubbed about 10 different instruments to make it appear as if it were truly an entire song that I got this from (which is part of the illusion.) I added a bass, drums, backing vocals, maracas, tambourine, flute, bongos, cowbell, wood block and several other little instruments here and there. I was actually quite proud of the end result. It almost makes me want to actually write a song around this little snippet of craziness. Not sure if I’m truly inspired enough to try any further. This is song #271.
