I often find that peoples why for working their business changes over time. Im no exception. Last June, I was sitting at my computer, praying for answers. The Lord answered that prayer through a PM from Renee Gladu Stump. I knew quite clearly that the Lord was pointing me to this opportunity, but I had no idea how big of an opportunity it was. When I started with It Works, my goal was to just make an extra $500 a month because I couldnt imagine making more. My why was so we could recover from 2 years of unemployment quicker and have a little breathing room. Despite him being back to work, we were only one car break down or an appliance failing from having to go back into debt, something we both desperately wanted to avoid. Every penny was squeezed in incredible ways. A little breathing room was honestly all I thought I could manage, as I was working 60-80 hours a week, homeschooling the kids, plus the cooking, cleaning and laundry. I earned $500 my first month, and I was blown away by how easy the business was- exactly what to do and exactly how to make the money was clearly laid out with no secrets. I wasnt left to figure it out alone. Renee and her husband Forrest Stump were right there, every step of the way, answering questions, as well as a full team of people who were more than willing to help with tips, hints, and direction on what and how to do. I was treated like family, like a friend and teammate, not like competition. I quickly realized that $500 a month was not my limit with this business- I saw what others were making by just staying in and completing the same Steps to Success each month, and I was blown away. We had decided to enroll the kids in our church school, and I needed to come up with an extra $500 a month to cover tuition. I saw that the GOOD bonus could provide a $400 a month prize, plus a $2000 a month commission on average. I ran as hard and as fast as I could to get there, and we received that bonus in September. My why very quickly changed at that point to getting myself out of working 60-80 hours a week, and going to working It Works 20 hours a week instead to replace that income. While I loved blogging, the cutthroat competition and the crazy workloads had me burnt out. So we kept pushing. I went double diamond for the $15,000 GOOD bonus and Jeff went diamond for another $10,000 bonus and I was able to stop blogging. Then I realized that it really was possible to retire Jeff Foster at this business, so that became my why. He received the $15,000 GOOD bonus in May and we retired him a week and a half ago. That was $50,000 in bonuses earned in one year. Now, my why has become true financial freedom for my family and for those who have chosen to join me in this business, be a partner, and work alongside me. I have seen how this business has changed our lives, and I want to see other families experience the same freedom that comes from being debt-free and able to retire your husband, bring him home, and work a home-based business together. My experience is absolutely duplicatable, as Ive seen many other families take the same path. Is it hard? Yes, its hard work. Is it rewarding? Absolutely. Incredibly so, in ways I never imagined. I know of no other career where you can double your income in one month, determine your own raises by how much you work, or have more control over your income.
