I often get emails and messages asking me why I continue to focus on awareness campaigns of all things nuclear. This is it. This is why. Miko Tsukamoto, formerly a resident of Iwaki, Fukushima, has evacuated her children to Kitakyushu City. In this clip with English subtitles, she explains the lack of direction & information from the government at the time of the hydrogen explosions at the Daiichi Nuclear Reactors, despite the fact that her husband is a civil servant in Iwaki. Thus, her child was unnecessarily exposed and now has a thyroid pustule. Miko explains the myth of decontamination. She explains the unwillingness for the state to address or admit to the problem of food contamination. She explains the policy of incinerating radioactive waste over 2/3 of the countrys and then the recycling of resultant radioactive ash, used in cement and in construction. Most of all, she calls our attention to the silencing of her voice. Please take 18 minutes to tune into the very issues that I saw unfolding 2 years ago. I am not an alarmist, but I am very alarmed.
