I often hear the Mainstream Misleadia and many of my more liberal friends refer to the Tea Party as the Radical Tea Party. The definition of Radical, in the context used here, is as follows (From the Miriam-Webster Dictionary): a : very different from the usual or traditional : extreme b : favoring extreme changes in existing views, habits, conditions, or institutions c : associated with political views, practices, and policies of extreme change It was, and has been, President Obamas stated vision of fundamental change. Fundamental change, or extreme change, is actually the radical viewpoint. The true movement to return to the founding principles of individual liberty, individual rights, and minimal governmental intervention--the tenets detailed in the US Constitution--is the basic platform of the Tea Party Movement. The government was not created to control the people. It is the responsibility--the duty--of American citizens, to control the government. It is US that matter, not the government. They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. This was written by Franklin, sometime shortly before February 17, 1775 as part of his notes for a proposition at the Pennsylvania Assembly.
