I often post messages to Facebook, in an attempt to bring a positive idea or two to your day. I apologize if this electro-friendship and my submissions sound like Im standing on a podium. My attempt is most sincere --- just to provide thoughts and ideas for your consideration. And if Im too much, Im a delete button away. But a little over four years ago, in the midst of a lot of challenges, I returned to church, to a brand new contemporary worship service we started at Trinity United Methodist Church, here in Salina. We named it The NINE:50, simply because thats what time it starts. In the past four or five years, Ive faced a lot of challenges personally. But during that time, Ive renewed my relationship with God. It hasnt automatically made life easier-- there are no guarantees, and we all have unique and varied challenges in life. But I have a new partner standing with me. He is my rock, and He surrounds me with hope, and strength, and support, and He asks me to demonstrate love to others. And not to be judgmental. And to look for ways to make a difference. I recognize when He presents himself now and Ive experienced amazing things He has done for me. And I see what He does in the lives of others. I share my journey simply to say this: If things havent been going so well for you, consider the possibilities of returning to God, returning to church, and returning to a life filled with hope, and grace. In the gathering, you will find an environment where you will be surrounded by others-- seeking direction, and healing, and joy. If you dont have a church, you are welcome to join us at The NINE:50 every Sunday morning. We sing, and pray, and dialogue about the mornings message. We take communion at our service every week. And we discuss the word of God. If what youre doing isnt working, come back to church. Your church. Our church. Any church. Get yourself turned around, and locked in on what faith can bring to your week ahead. Much love to you. Blessings.
