I often think about how crazy it is that other peoples lives are so fascinating to people, to the point where they will involve themselves even at times, and I tend to blame it on social media. But its older than that. Before social media people still gossiped. They watched soap operas obsessively, which are all about fictional characters drama. Now theyre fascinated with other peoples drama on reality TV shows. So social media must be irresistible to this kind of person, its like a live soap opera to them, with people they know -- and they can even inject themselves into it if they want and they can imagine the story line too, reading into posts and guessing what is going on. It must be irresistible to some of them. Its never the medium, its always whose hands its in, and there are plenty of meddling hands out there and bored people....
