I often wonder how many of our numerous graduates in Nigeria are employable? A lot dont have any skill/value beyond classroom knowledge. Some have not read any informative book about the reality of life beyond the four walls of the classroom. Since graduation; no new skills acquired, no training, no certificate & they just expect to land a job with one big multinational. Some dont even want to take the route of volunteering to gain experience or work for small companies to gather the experience the multinational companies might be looking for. In my opinion there is really no excuse for any graduate to be idle despite the harsh reality of the economy. Its in the same harsh condition that some youth without any special connections are daily developing themselves and are becoming more & more relevant with the value that they now have to offer. I am not just talking I have been through all these realities & I can tell you that to go ahead in life you have to be ready to take the bull by the horn and with God on your side you will succeed. Failure is not a destination neither is success. I have since realize that in life there is no stagnation to the growth of man; you are either moving forward or you are regressing. If my thought for the day concerns you, kindly initiate the step out of mediocrity and start living by purpose with clear and well defined written plans. And never joke with the place of God in all your effort. Remember to keep track of the little successes as you deliberately build your portfolio of relevance. God bless you.
