I once asked my Brazilian friend on tumblr how and why did she convert to Islam ..? She replied with a long message which I would like to share with you guys ❤️ Please read till the end because its gonna make you feel proud somehow 🙈 here is her reply : Until I met him, I had only seen people preach or know right from wrong but not really abiding by any spiritual law. In Christianity, you are promised forgiveness from the moment you are baptized so there is really no motivation for you to avoid sin. Anyways, going back to this man...he really walked the walked and what was even more impressive, is that he did so with out preaching or arrogance. As I grew to know him and learned about his devotion to Islam, it was as if my eyes were opened. I read books, listened to lectures, visited mosques. Sometimes I was discouraged I wont lie but that had more to do with some of the people I encountered - not Islam. Something in me kept me curious. I found answers in the Quran. When I read the story of Jesus (pbuh) in the Quran it made sense. I had never understood the Christian concept of the trinity, even as a kid sitting in Sunday bible school. So the logic in the Quran more than anything convinced me. I love that Islam forces us all to remain on our tippy toes. Aware and conscious of ourselves and surroundings at all times. It guides us. I love how we are obligate as Muslims to think of each other as one family. To care for our neighbors and do good deeds without boasting. It reminds us constantly we are here to serve and submit to the One and Only. Without Him, we are nothing. I get really emotional and deep whenever I am asked to explain why I reverted. I can go on for five pages but it all comes down to that I feel it in my heart. I long to feel in His presence. I hope this jabbering helps. Good luck in your paper.
