I once heard that my Father the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad sent money to some of the inmates at the Milan Correctional Facility in Milan Michigan where he served nearly 5 years in prison during the 2nd World War. Some years later during the Christmas holidays was when he sent this gift. When asked why he was sending the inmates a Christmas gift as a Muslim that does not celebrate Christmas, his reply was simply; Since they will be receiving gifts this time of the year from everyone else, I want them to receive one from me.. Elijah Muhammad.
