I only have a simple question guys ( long story cut short but here- it goes) ive worked for several drilling companies over around 16 years as in all form eg rab diamond roary mud rc aircore diamond etc im not old school but done the yrds as a offside in the day eg the driller had to nearly die and you had to work for him as a offside for 3 odd years before you could even be trusted to touch a lever. So 16 -17 years later without mentioning company names etc and after working in 5 different countries ( I basically dont have a certificate apart from a HR, climbing at heights, and a s123< legally by todays terms I carnt get a gig as a offsider (my question is and no offence as myself im no rocket scientist but when the shit goes down im doing 20 hour days 8 hours on tick giving my all( again im not old school or new and dont talk any tech jargin etc but will have to soon return to Australia and follow my passion as in drilling even happy to go offsiding etc as thats really a pretty cruisy gig these days with rod spinners-rod handlaers etc ( my question is how does a basically 20 odd year old x mcdonalds worker have more qualifications than myself?) Ive drilled many places many countries etc and abroad work isnt good but reading seek I dont qualify for a job as a offsider in Australia. ( a lot of questions to be asked in this industry all around) This is no shit dig with any x companies etc but maybe its a classic example that paper should be used to wipe your ass and flushed down the toilet at times eg ive seen ppl enter the industry and have all there certs from flipping burgers at basically maccas then there the most glorified people ive seen on paper) Again this is no shit dig at those people and good on them but really (and knobs carry on about safety experience etc) oh I wish I was 21 again and spent a few weeks in drill school and parted with a few hundred $$$$. (Not a shit dig but again reality) and if any one has a fast solution of me getting a simple cert3 without going to school I would be greatfull- cheers.
