I only just read something about our local wildlife rescue service and noticed they said clearly not to touch any bats if you find them as they carry a fatal disease...Here is a terrible story of a healthy 8 yr old who mad a scratch from a bat while he was playing tennis one afternoon and a few months later developed symptoms and died :( I had no idea about bats carrying a fatal disease to humans so I assume you might not either - importantly though there is a vaccine that if given quickly enough has 100% success rate.
