I particularly wonder whether APC members are not Nigerians, and whether Dr Goodluck Jonathan is not supposed to be father to all Nigerians regardless of their age, gender, tribe, religion, political leaning etc. My concern is provoked by the way and manner the President spoke about the opposition members at the just concluded PDP rally in Lagos, which could leave aliens with the impression that Mr President was talking about some non-Nigerians, who must be crushed if the country must survive. Dr Jonathan is evidently feeling the heat, as the handwriting on the wall is too legible for him to ignore. However, he is still the President for the meantime. And he is by that reason expected to speak ‘presidently’. But what you have is a man acting like a kid whose toy is about to be snatched. Again, upon listening to his speech at the rally, I came to an irresistible conclusion that the President is not clear-headed at all, governance-wise. His understanding of certain concepts is wantonly warped. His appreciation of ‘corruption’ as a notion is pitiably narrower than I thought. My conviction is further strengthened that his occupation of the Presidential Villa is a ghastly accident, a kind that is worse than having a bull in a china shop. Oga Jonathan is a driver with misty eyes, no doubt. And the sooner the vehicle is rescued from him, the better for the passengers and even the unfortunate vehicle.
