I personally want to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved over the past few days in the bush fire control effort. We havent had the best weather (windy) but the fire crews have done an amazing job with fire breaks, back burning and other prevention measures to protect Tom Price and surrounding infrastructure. The fire is still burning but we are safe for now thanks to the fire breaks which have been put in place. Thank you to everyone in the community for staying calm and following directions, and keeping away from access roads as the fire crews dash from one location to the other. It will be a long night for about twenty-thirty fire crew and volunteers as they watch the fire over night and keep an eye out for stray embers that might come into the town site. Remember to keep checking the dfes.wa.gov.au for regular updates as we are still on two hour updates. Cr Peter Foster.
