I posted earlier about having dinner tonight with my old Juilliard School of Drama classmate, Anne Kerry Ford, and her husband Robben Ford.( Robben Ford Music) Anne and I began classes at Juilliard in 1975. We were in Group VIII. I left school soon after we were in a production of King Lear our first year - Anne played Goneril and I played Edmund - so we hadnt seen each other in 39 years. It was wonderful to see her tonight. I also got to meet her husband Robben for the first time. He is a legendary blues and jazz guitarist who has been nominated for five Grammys in his career. Here is some footage of Robben jamming with Miles Davis. Robben comes in around the 2:50 mark. Anne and Robben - a charming, talented couple. And after a few minutes at the restaurant tonight it seemed as if Anne and I were back in the hallways of Juilliard laughing and talking and dreaming of the lives we were going to live. Its nice to know that still in my late 50s, I can feel so young at heart and dream about a life yet to be lived. For that, I thank you, Anne. And I thank the universe for putting you in my path - both back at Juilliard and now here in San Francisco 39 years later.
