I posted this on my account a few months ago, but after our visit with the behavioral specialist, I am feeling so defeated and I want to reiterate. This is my dog Willow. She is the result of a irresponsible breeder. She was rescued from a puppy auction at 12 weeks old because her breeder could not make a profit on her. Willow has such complex mental issues, the specialist is concerned she wont make it to 5 years old without biting someone. She is 1. She is recommended to wear a muzzle, a calming cap, and be sedated for a routine vet visit. Willow can no longer go to the dog park or go on walks, things she loves, because her behavior is unpredictable. Willow will be on medication for the rest of her life, medication that will only manage her behavior because the specialist doesnt believe she will ever be fixed. Luckily, the money we paid for her went to save other weims. It didnt go to a scumbag breeder running a puppy mill. If you are hell bent on getting a puppy, please research the breeder. Ask questions. Puppy mills and irresponsible breeders exist because people buy from them. Willow is still an amazing dog and we love her, craziness and all. We will never give up on her. None of this is her fault. She shouldnt have to be punished because of some incompetent human being.
