I predict there will be a mass Exodus out of Michigan...probably to Iowa. Now, I have nothing against people needing to use welfare, food stamps, etc...However I have a problem when it becomes the soul source of income and a way of life for people. Sue and I had our share of tough times when we were first married and lived in low rent government housing, used food stamps, and I even stood in line for the free cheese back in the Reagan era. But it was only temporary as we had a willingness to do whatever it took to get away from this lifestyle, and it required working two jobs and anything else we needed to do to support ourselves and 4 little boys. I look at steps like this one as a way to make some people more accountable.
