I pretty excited about the election today! For the first time in well over 100 years, we have a great chance of sending a Republican senator from our district, Dr. Tim Melson, to Montgomery. Also, on both sides of the Elk River, in Limestone and Lauderdale counties, we are also in a good position to elect two Republican sheriffs in Eric Smith (Limestone) and Rick Singleton (Lauderdale). I believe both will prove to be excellent sheriffs in their respective counties. I know it will be difficult, but I would also love to see Dr. Larry Stutts take the senate seat down in Colbert, Franklin, and Fayette counties. I hope the people in that area will make the same changes that are taking place here in Limestone and Lauderdale counties. The political landscape is quickly changing around here and I believe its for the better.
