I purchased an S5 from the Authorized Dealer in the mall . When I walked into the kiosk the young lady was playing with her iPhone and iPad . I told her my problems and requested them to exchange my phone for a brand new one. She looked at me and first said she couldnt do It because she didnt have a Manger code .... then after telling her Ive worked with att before and why is is a code needed ..she then commenced to changing her story to there Its a new policy that people have to pay $35 restocking fee. I ask her why am I being forced to pay a fee when you guys sold me a defective produxt she then replied with maam you either pay the fee or wait until my manager gets back .. I didnt like her attitude nor lack of customer service so I immediately called corporate. .. corporate confirmed that the representative at the store is giving false information and that she had to take my phone back free of charge.... corporate advised me to walk back inside while they placed me on hold to contact the representative at the kiosk so they could assist her so she could assist me ... as I walk back into the store ..... I realize ...... this young lady is on her iPad and the store phone is off the hook.... I politely say maam corporate is getting ready to call you she looks at me ... then picks up the phone that was just laying there as if she was on the phone doing business. ... meanwhile corporate Is calling line 2 ... while shes fake working and ignoring me...... when corporate comes back on the line they ask me to hand her my cell phone .....she looked at me and say NO! And If I dont leave she will call security. I ask her nicely why ? I just want you to do your job and give me a working phone she then CALLS Mall security and the police on me . 1 min later... three officers walk up and pull me to the side and ask me my side of the story ......very kindly they take my phone from corporate and corporate tells them theyre trying to get a hold of the representative ......the police tell corporate your att customer Is standing here very calm and respectable and it looks like she wants to return a phone but YOUR representative wont allow it.... the officers politely walk away and I walk out the store with corporate still on the phone...... 4 hrs later .... the woman got fired... I got a new phone that actually chargers from the corporate store... and I have three free months of the service from AT&T ... moral ofe the story...... never go to to a authorized retailer and expect the same type of customer service you will get at a company store. Never again will I shop at the mall AT&T again!
