I ran the numbers... Since Feb 4 (hardly 6 months ago), Satya Nadella led Microsoft to some amazing growth in the stock market after a 10 year flat streak, creating $50.894 billion in new wealth that did not exist before he took hold of the reigns at the company. That is enough new wealth to create 50,894 millionaires from scratch, so a tremendous number of people benefited, far more than the 18,000 who will be affected by the current layoffs (difficult though it is for those folks to respond to the challenge of finding new employment - me included should I prove to be one of them in the end).
