I ran with LRC for the first time this morning - the 9.6K Van Diemans Brewery race. I even enjoyed the first 2Ks before turning right and going up some never ending hills. Enjoy the views, they said. All I saw was bitumen and gravel about a metre in front of my feet. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic experience. LRC is a wonderfully friendly, supportive and encouraging group of runners and officials. I was surprised they were all still there by the time I finished. I cant help thinking that Launceston is especially lucky to have parkrun and LRC - two great teams of extraordinarily giving volunteers out every week in all weather! I love parkrun and I love LRC already too. If you havent run with them yet, give it a go - you wont regret it!
