I rarely feel the need to get political on social media. Mostly - TopicsExpress

I rarely feel the need to get political on social media. Mostly because I dont want to fall into the trap, like so many do, of letting my emotions impact my stance on a topic. However, after reading many of the posts recently, it has become clear there is a division between us and a clear cry of radical change we all desire on some level. We have allowed our leaders, scholars and media to create divisive teams, to which you must choose a side. I constantly hear words like uneducated, out-of-touch, ignorant, lazy, greedy to describe the views of each others side. When most of what I read is emotional, unfactual, propaganda. Have you seen the commercial stating, If it is on the Internet it must be true! Well, I am a French model, Bonjure! This propaganda applies to all forms of media. I propose a radically different approach. What makes groups of people and nations great? Throughout history strength comes from Unity. This word has lost its appeal recently, being substituted for words like diversity, individualism and self. I find it ironic that people argue our country is worse off now then it was in prior generations. As if the Great Depression, Civil War, Slavery, Revolution, World Wars, Cold War and Wild West were easier times to live. Rubbish! But what helped us to transition and endure these moments of struggle is we, as a great people, found strength in unity to overcome, make decisive change and move forward. Sometimes it was painful and required sacrific. So I propose that for us to move forward from our struggles now is to stop pointing fingers (certainly doesnt seem to be getting us anywhere and we all know the definition of instantly) and lets start focusing on agendas we can agree on. One is education and the second is fiscal responsibility. Lets start fresh. All the moral, religious and international diplomacy lets put aside for a moment. I think all can agree that the future of our great nation depends on great education. Although there are different ways to approach this it should be all of our focus to improve. When was the last time you heard education as a major agenda? No child left behind? This is the greatest investment in the future we can make. I have several ideas to ensure we can satisfy the greatest allure of our great nation. Opportunity! I can continue if people are willing to listen and be involved, but I have no tolerance for poor language and insults. I suggest a forum of ideas and change. Not finger pointing and insults. Again, the idea is to form Unity, not division. Lets take a look at how government should be by the people and for the people. Not at the expense of the people. Talk with your neighbor, get involved and lets stop the bickering and find ways to build trust between us all. Even if it is one topic at a time. We have to put self and party lines behind to become Americans that want to help each other! It is time for the people to take back control of our government and future. Let me know if you wish me to create a forum? I have many ideas, but I know there are people with the creativity for change to help us prosper. I, for one, welcome the dialogue, but more importantly we need to take action. We are not powerless, it starts with one good idea and one great act.
