I read so many mean things online about The Purple Fox. Mostly from The Others who dont have a clue. In some respects i understand where they come from. They dont understand. Dude is a complicated individual and as deep as an ocean. He doesnt fit the rules. ANY rules. Race, gender, genre. He goes against it all. To quote him When they tell me to walk a straight line, i put on crooked shoes. When they tell me i cant live 4ever, i pay some overdues Being Purple is not easy in a world full of The Others We think differently. We think outside the box. We dont concern ourselves with roles and rules on how were supposed to act. What music were supposed to like. Purple People, how many times a day do u talk 2 ppl online and in the groups not knowing whether they are Black, White, Asian? Whether they are cute, ugly, fat or skinny? Whether they are even boy or girl? I do everyday! WE DONT CARE! I dont even look at profile pics. With This ride with The Purple Fox, its about the music, but MORE. Ive met the most beautiful, generous, loving ppl EVER thru this trip. We come together everyday 4 the love of the music and 4 one another. We ARE different, but we are the same too Prince said things in songs that i only thought or sometimes didnt knmow i felt until he said it. So personal and revealing. He gave me permission to be different. Made me PROUD to be different! He liberated me from the box. The problem is The Others like the box and they want u in it too. If ur not in it, ur strange eccentric gay crazy ...(insert label here).. Sometimes, when im not with u guys or i read mean things, i feel TOO different. Sometimes i feel like we are on the Land Of Misfit Toys and other times i feel like we are an exclusive club and i revel in that. What does being Purple mean 2 u?
