I realize I havent been here as long as some of you. I moved here in 94 after getting out of the Marine Corps, still very young and ambitious. Attended college, worked at many local places (Elijahs, Madmonk, Fuddruckers, Wallys, & WB Lifeguard to name just a few) and essentially bonded with some of the most wonderful people I have ever known; they have molded me into who I am today. For one reason or another, last December is the 3rd time Ive moved back to Wilmington. Folks, Im not leaving. This place stole my heart when it was quiet and small, granted it has changed leaps and bounds but down deep, its still the same place that I fell in love with 20 years ago. I will admit, I am SHOCKED at what it has become; what made it so attractive has now been diluted, my super secret spots downtown or at the beach are now the Grand Central Station that is a dumping spot for trash and disrespectful people. Wilmington truly was a secret and we owned the town, we ran the town, it was ours. I understand that just as I was once a newcomer to Wilmy, so are the folks today. All I ask is be kind to one another, be generous, and realize, this is not all the places youve lived before, this is Wilmington. Lets keep it that way!
