I realize nobody asked for my opinion, but I was seriously disappointed in Heaven is For Real. I went in with kind of neutral expectations, thinking the budget was low and a lot of inspirational movies tend to be cheesy, so that didnt bother me. What bothered me was that it was a cop out -- there was no hint of a message of salvation, or redemption or anything that aligned with scripture. Just a feel-good, spiritual, emotionally provoking pile of fluff that totally missed the point. Why does this matter? Because the reality of an eternal afterlife is too significant to beat around the bush. We cant continue to keep telling people their goodness will get them to heaven. Its simply not true and is dangerous to keep telling the world that it is...
