I really believe that removing BigMacs from the McDonalds menu is a step in the right direction. I mean I dont know that BigMacs will contribute to decreasing the obesity epidemic, (given people will get their calories somewhere else) but at least its one less piece of junk out there. Sure, I like junk food too, but I think America is far too privileged when it comes to food. And while Im all for loving your body, obesity is a serious issue. Not only does it limit you, but it brings on other health complications--along with money issues that even affect America as a whole. Really, the world would just be a whole lot better without these capitalized chains. Not only is McDonalds really bad for you, but the environment is taking a toll too. They also have horrible factory farms! McDonalds is running into a huge problem because their profits have gone done 30%--which is a lot of money considering how filthy rich they are. Because of this they are trying to change the direction in their target market! They know that their psychographic target is changing; so they are trying to fit in with everyone else. The question is: do they really care, or do they just want their profits back up? Personally, I think McDonalds is trying to make themselves seem greener and healthier because they just want their money...I mean they dont even care about their own employees!!! After all, theyve been selling crap for a very long time and now they choose to care because they realize that if they dont do anything then they will lose millions. Boohoo. Im actually proud that their profits have gone down. .:)
