I really dont know where to begin. When we first got the news in late August that Courtney had lost 20% more heart function and she would need a heart and liver transplant our world seemed like it had been turned upside down. We were told that in order to be listed as a 1a status she would have to go into the hospital and because of her multiple antibodies the wait could be one year or longer. We made the decision for me to leave my job in order for me to move to Minnesota to be with her. Besides having to worry about her declining health I worried all the time about how we would pay for my housing, food, gas, parking, groceries, as well as any residual medical bills without my income. I finally decided that there was no point in worrying because none of us had any choice in the matter. I just had to trust that this is where God wanted us to be and that he would take care of us. Im not going to lie...I still worried, but just not as much. I was hopeful that the Benefit would sustain us for a few weeks or months at best. WELL...let me tell you the Benefit was so successful that I can finally stop worrying about how I am going to make ends meet!! I have ALL of you to thank for that and complete strangers as well!!! To those of you who helped by praying for a successful benefit, for helping to spread the word by sharing our statuses and by displaying posters in your businesses, to all the area businesses for their donations of food and items for the raffles and auctions, to the area schools who did their jean day for us, to Fit Body U who donated $2,000, to the Valley & River Country who gave us radio time and auctioned off a Smart TV from the Shoppe, to the Sweet little girls who sold lemonade at their lemonade stand and raised $200 (who were just Precious
