I really like little social experiments like this, but in reading - TopicsExpress

I really like little social experiments like this, but in reading through the comments I think its important to remember that things like this do not apply to everyone. While I personally think that its an attractive quality for one to not feel required to wear any makeup (it shows a certain kind of confidence that I really like), its important to remember that everybody has their own tastes and reasons, and there are some people who do have skin conditions that theyre embarrassed of and will do whatever it takes to get their appearance to a point where they feel comfortable looking at themselves. If wearing makeup is what gets you through the day feeling good about yourself, by all means do what you gotta do, but I also think it can be good to try things like this and see that you can be you even with a naked face. Society places a ludicrous amount of importance on womens looks, and I think that one way we can start changing that is by showing the world that women are allowed to be awesome without looking like they just woke up on the right side of a Maxim centerfold. But hey, Im just a guy. Nobody tells me I look tired and I havent shaved in over two weeks, cmon people! I know the whiskers arent that attractive, but at least I can try it out without worrying about anyone criticizing me for it (I was prepared to defend the stubble, but my defense was met with a startling indifference). If I were a woman and decided to try growing a beard, I can guarantee Id get a different reaction. (That last part was a joke, but still true)
