I really love this movie, as many of you know. One of the reasons is that it is genuine. Let me explain. Many food movies attempt to show the food and chef as two separate entities. What this means is that there is no real connection between the actor and the food. Often the food is prepared off site and brought in to be filmed. With Chef, what Jon Favfeau has done, is embrace the culture of the chef, and really learned to cook. Not just to look like he is. And that,...is the difference. others that i would put up, Tampopo, Big Night, Todays Special, Babettes Feast, Eat Drink Man Woman....Spanglish too, for the sandwich at the end... Whats your best food movie...
