I really miss Ioma village. Years back in 1988 we headed home for holiday, looking forward to a fun-filled one, we took our soccer boots and a quality kick ball. Holiday was awesome with all cousins from the 5 grandfathers and their cousins on a water filled island. Ioma boys were known for their strength:-). One afternoon, guys gathered at the playing field and there..,started a good game. The big boys were all over the pitch chasing the pig skin (soccer ball). I was in one team with the likes of Shamukati, Cibbo Lutombi, Kambiti, Shandala, Jungu, and a lot of my family friends. Singongi was leading the other team which was packed with the likes of Ntomwa and other strong boys. We hammered them badly and they turned out to be physical due to pressure. It was getting tense, and i remember seeing two boys rushing for the ball and it unfortunately crossed the sideline. It was going to be a throw-in. Ntomwa went to pick the ball and before he threw it in, one of his team mates called for caution and he said gents tuli organayize tunywinse aauu. Ntomwa (who recently visited Katima town, and saw Gents and Ladies written on the walls of public toilets) got furious. He threw the ball away and started advancing to the fellow, asking.. Gents njeni? Unibona buholo utele kanizi kuti Gents ci mbuzi eee..? Uniya hanu. Gents njeni?
