I received a call from the surgeon this morning. The report came - TopicsExpress

I received a call from the surgeon this morning. The report came back. The lump was cancer and the type the surgeon told me it was when he removed Willys lump. He said he finds it very hard to believe but the report said there were no cancer cells found around the edges. That would indicate he got good clear margins everywhere. He said this type of cancer usually returns so Im to watch for anything suspicious so it can be taken care of immediately. I asked for the spelling of the type of cancer Willy has and he immediately told me I could do research on the internet but most links are to information that is not correct and if you dont have a link to a veterinary college manual or the links vets use, I would be reading something useless and more likely than not, incorrect. I did tell him I was aware of misinformation on so many of the web sites that people think are legitimate or put up by veterinarians. Hes mailing me the report along with information. He said everything will be included from the name to anything I would want to know about what Willy had. I explained how I moved his pain medication times closer together because Willy was in so much pain and I could start giving them farther apart like he originally prescribed. He said I should continue to do what Im doing because he removed muscle and every time Willy breathes, it causes him pain so Ill continue what I am doing at least until the stitches come out on the 30th. Needless to say, I had an immediate migraine which is out of the ordinary for me under stress but I am very relieved with what his surgeon had to say this morning. Im counting on all our prayers being heard and Willy is now cancer free. Im counting on that report being 100% correct and this time the surgeon is wrong.. he did get everything! Willy still has a long recovery ahead of him but I can say that this morning when he woke up, I saw clear eyes and he seemed to be completely with it. He was able to walk and potty a little better so he is on the uphill climb to good health once again. I will be thrilled when Willy will be able to play with and enjoy his little sister again. I doubt Gracie will ever play with Willy but she has been very gentle and sympathetic with him since his surgery. When I bring him out of the pen or a bed to potty, Gracie moves very carefully around him so she doesnt bump him. She has even crawled very slowly and carefully into the one bed with Willy and slept beside him. I think she felt the need to be close to him. Thank you everyone for your support, positive thoughts and prayers. I do believe in the power of prayer and truly appreciate them. Thank you for the cards for Willy, the messages and emails. Because of you, Willy will one day be blitzing with his baby sister, worm farming and baking his fantastic cakes and gourmet meals. :) Love you all!! Sally
