I received a phone call that I was not expecting Sunday night. Every year since 1955, Charlie Philbrick, aka Mr. Defense, has bowled in the American Legion District bowling tournament. Sadly, he told me his body just wont take it anymore and the 57 year streak will end. Those of you who know him, know that he was always an active member of the 5th District and his community of New Washington. All effort will be made so that he and Mary Lou come to the tournament and support those who have supported him in the past.
