I recently completed a MOOC (massively open online course) in which 73,868 signed up for the course, 23,810 did the first assignment, 6,683 completed the course w/ adequate grades-- 2,251 of which had 100% or higher. People focus so much on low completion rate of MOOCs (only 9% who signed up finished, so low!) which is insane to me, because over 6,000 people just learned a new skill that might not have learned otherwise. Face to face teachers-- how long would it take you to teach something to over 6,000 people? Its like judging a bookstore because every time I go in one I pick up 20 books and only buy 1.
