I recently had lunch with a very rich Indian friend who runs businesses in Uganda, UK and South Africa just to learn how he has been able to maintain good enterprises for over 40 yrs and its because I believe in learning from those that have walked the talk which I do often because I would love to do the same.....At the conclusion of our discussions, I asked him about his biggest regret and man, he started shedding tears of course I panicked in my heart.......then he Said I have two sons both living and working in the UK both over 40 with children.....I never gave them time because I thought money was everything and now they are not interested in my businesses and neither do they want to see me and I could see great pain while he explained.......he said, I see you with your children a lot but is that is a habit you have created or just once in while?....of course I love the company of my family and I spend lots of time with my children.....to me it doesnt matter how rich you are if you cant bring up good children all that means nothing....am not saying money means nothing, money means a lot, you lack it and you will know what I mean but its not everything trust me I know this very well.......my best time with my children is when play football with them, play UNO with them, do walks with them, wrestle with them, read with them before going to bed of which all these cost nothing but time. I am not saying I dont spend on them I do but they love nothing but my time I have learnt.....yes, they have seen me kneeling to pray, they have seen me cry, they have seen me strong, They have seen me attend their school special days, etc and yes, they are blessed to have a mother who has taken them on a full time job mine is part time because someone has to earn for the family......Iam not saying am perfect I have failed many times as a father and they know I will apologize....men you can never be too important for your children just like a business own should never be too important for the people he works with......Great weekend my face book friends
