I recently had my 6 month old Kobo Aura HD crap out on me - I was reading it on a plane, put it inside my breast pocket in a rigid case, and when I took it out again the screen was fuxx0red. Ive talked to Kobo and according to them its impact damage and not covered by warranty, despite the closest thing to an impact hitting the device was me opening the rigid case on the cover as I took it out from my pocket. This makes me fairly unhappy, especially given this is the third Kobo screen to break on me within two years, so Im looking for a different brand of e-reader to move to. Anyone got a recommendation? Specifically looking for something that has a back light, SD-card expansion slot, and reasonably sturdy. I dont expect it to be bullet proof, but something that doesnt break when I take it out of a pocket would be nice.
