I recently performed a sociological experiment. Conjecture: no one remembers you and those that do think youre a ass. Devise a test: FB friend anyone you ever called a friend that you can find (Where are you Pat Parrish?)and see who reponds. Analyze data and reevaluate hypotheses: Almost everyone responded in the affirmative. (Cockles...warmed)New hypothesis: The world doesnt hate you and you not as alone as you think. ( Or alternatively being a FB friend doesnt count for much. I prefer the former). I spent the most part of my life tryin to disprove another conjecture, that no man is an island. I pushed away everyone for any slight, real or imagined. I was too damaged and self absorbed to really connect with people. I sought comfort in the most prurient endeavours. The human condition is harsh. More so in isolation. So thanks to everyone who responded. My love and empathy for humanity remains intact. And apologies to those who had to put up with my less enlightened self. Youre right, it shouldnt have taken this long to figure this out. Life is humbling. Forgive me for confusing FB for a diary.
