I recently posted a question about peoples opinion on poems about depression and loneliness that plagues many in our society today. Still waiting for some feedback but in the meantime here is a new poem I composed while sitting alone in the ushers room after morning service at church. Please let me know what you think, especially you, Marcy. God bless yo all! I entitled it FREEDOM... Loneliness, Depression, Fear of being ALONE. All negative feelings To keep you in bondage and PRONE Prone to thinking you need another to be FREE To achieve all that you can BE But God did not design you to rely on anything OTHER And to seek comfort from one ANOTHER But to look up to Him who sent you The Comforter Where all these feelings can be lifted and LAID At the feet of Jesus, For the price He PAID Leaning on His arms is when you will begin to SEE All that you were created to BE Free in your mind, spirit, and body From worldly DEPRESSION and Satanic OPPRESSION Replacing these with JOY and PEACE Entering into His REST Secure like a baby bird in his mother’s NEST Praying to God and realizing that you are BLESSED While other’s you know have gone on to SLEEP But God has given you a chance To venture into the DEEP Deeper into your intimacy with Him In the midst of all this worldly COMMOTION Jesus is the one to whom we owe our DEVOTION Looking up to the hills from whence cometh our help Resting in Him to soothe our EMOTIONS May Joy and Peace reign in your Heart And from the Lord’s guidance you never Depart By Djapoetry
