just thought id throw something else out there about internet speeds in bishop grosseteste and moaning about internet speed and latency issues. whilst playing games on browsing Facebook or such you can expect a maximum of around 200ms or around an average of 60 or so ping(which is pretty slow/laggy) it spikes as expected so dont worry about that really your internet speed will be relatively ok most of the time you will experience some issues but nothing major (consider that everyone on campus accommodation is allowed two devices attached at any onc egiven time) + if you still feel like the internets awful let me share with you some stats from my home internet. my internet speed has hit an all time low... 0.32 mbps so works out at 0.04mBps or in laymans terms (40kbps) which would mean it would take me roughly 18 days to download world of warcrafts base game (26gb) from an online source... thats two and a half weeks.... were not even counting the expansions (all 4 soon to be 5) including ALL the patch notes. bare in mind this is purely for descriptive purposes. for those interested in these stats here they are. to me these speeds and latency constants are like heaven to me as they are at least 25x better than my home internet believe me my internet is trying at times ab internet does its best for the amount of people using it! and i for one enjoy it just dont go out there expecting it to be perfect ^^ only using mine as a comparison so you can see how good ab internet at least tries to be.
